PILONIDAL CYSTS

Note: The complete version of this text contains significantly more information than this 25 percent version, especially where the characters "…." appear in some of the paragraphs below.

The following information may not replace more extensive personal care given by a knowledgeable health care practitioner, however, it will give you an excellent start and may be enough to help your condition.

Pilonidal cysts are a fistula or pit in the sacral region, communicating with the exterior, containing hair which may act as a foreign body producing chronic inflammation.

Though they can occur in the seemingly healthy individual, there is usually an infection somewhere in the body, which is carried--via the blood--into susceptible areas of the skin.

For topical treatment, you can create the following poultice: Measure two tablespoons of....  Leaving it on the cyst for five to ten minutes, can cause it to come to a head and drain. This can be repeated as needed.

To prevent recurrence, the diet needs to be looked at carefully. Foods are being consumed that are creating stress and toxicity in the body, which is causing this purulent condition. Fill your diet with cleansing, nourishing foods for a minimum of one week, though six weeks is necessary to address long-standing conditions. Your eating plan should consist of....  Hormone-free poultry may be O.K., but wait until you are back to normal before you try it. The rest would be brown rice....  Eggs should only be eaten once a week at this time. Avoid all...., which are the main contributors to infection in the body. Do not worry about whether you'll be getting enough.... almost all vegetables, whole grains, fish, and legumes contain calcium even some fruits. The rest you will get from eating small amounts of...., if you wish, in addition to your therapy pack. They have plenty of...., as do products like tofu and tempeh and soy beans. These are also considered high in the phytoestrogens, which help to stabilize hormonal balance, and are considered a legume. Use.... instead of butter when possible, because it is excellent for the skin. The best food for the skin is, actually, cabbage. Eat it liberally during this period - raw, cooked or marinated.

Here is a summary of the foods to avoid: wheat....  Also avoid all refined sugar products, such as candy, cakes, and pastry, and all sugar substitutes.  Also stay away from the common chemical additive benzoic acid, red and yellow dyes, and any food additives that have names long enough to be intimidating and are printed small enough to need a microscope to read them.

It would also be helpful to support your endocrine system when dealing with skin conditions, to improve metabolism and hormonal balance, to counter stress, and to keep up energy. Consult the "Stress" selection on this menu.
